for Joe Manno's A Fighting Chance

Emmy-Award-Winning Actor/Comedian Motivates Children
Orlando kickoff event launches nationwide tour

ORLANDO, Fla. (April 17, 2006) – More than 2,400 Central Florida elementary school students have been chosen to attend “A Fighting Chance”, a live, motivational performance by actor/comedian, Joe Manno. The event will be held at the Hard Rock Live on Monday, May 9 from 10:30 a.m. to 12 p.m.

The show has received endorsements from teachers across America, two of Florida's governors, including Jeb Bush, the mayor of Orlando, and former President of the United States Ronald Reagan.

Each of Manno’s performances encourages children to take the right roads in life by staying away from drugs, gangs and violence. Manno describes the performances as “a mix of Anthony Robbins-style motivational, Robin Williams’ wackiness and Bill Cosby’s storytelling.”

Manno will encourage student involvement in the performance by distributing a non-fiction book, entitled “A Fighting Chance”. Once students have attended the event and read the book they are eligible for prizes such as a trip to Universal Studios® or an XBOX 360™.

In addition to his motivational messages, Manno also will focus this particular performance on the homeless and needy plight of students in Central Florida schools. He will introduce the Joseph Project, a program providing eligible students with access to a student-only food bank.

RTC and Harvest Time International continually seek support of community businesses to keep the school tour and food bank program running. The performances, including transportation, are provided at no cost to the schools or students.

Reaching The Children (RTC) Entertainment, Inc. is a Not-for-profit 501(c) 3 entertainment company for families, co-founded in 1997 by Manno and Anthony DeRosa. For more information, please visit www.afightingchance.tv.

Sponsors of the event include RL Gordon Custom Homes, Free America, Harvest Time International, 800 Charity Cars, Fantastic Sam's, Build-A-Bear Workshop, Starbucks, Speak-Out Hotline and Knight.
